Philadelphia have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will square off against Dallas at 9:20 p.m. on Sunday. If the 0-6 final from the last time they met is any indication, this game will be decided by the defense.

Philadelphia didn’t have too many spare points in their matchup with Jacksonville two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 24-18 victory. No one put up better numbers for Philadelphia than Carson Wentz, who brought his A game into the match. He passed for 286 yards and 3 touchdowns. If you haven’t heard Wentz’s name lately, then you haven’t been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past six games.

Meanwhile, it was all tied up at halftime, but Dallas weren’t quite Tennessee’s equal in the second half when they met last Monday. Dallas took a 14-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tennessee. This makes it the second loss in a row for Dallas.

Philadelphia’s win lifted them to 4-4 while Dallas’s defeat dropped them down to 3-5. The Philadelphia defense got after the quarterback against Jacksonville to the tune of four sacks, so Dallas’s offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the match.

The Rams fell to the New Orleans Saints last week 45-35, a game where they went down 17 points in the first half. After attempting a ferocious comeback, eventually tying the game at 35-35, Drew Brees and Michael Thomas connected on a 75-yard touchdown pass and New Orleans eventually pulled away at the very end.

The last time Los Angeles played Seattle on October 7, a narrow 33-31 victory at CenturyLink Field. The Rams lost wide receivers Brandin Cooks and Cooker Kupp at separate points in that game because of concussions. Both have since returned, Kupp also working his way back from a knee injury, and both will be healthy entering Sunday.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll understands the ridiculously imposing task his secondary has, attempting to slow down the Rams offense in a prime bounce-back spot.

Seattle’s offense will need to carry the team. Running back Chris Carson, with three 100-plus yard performances over the last five games, is a game-time decision with a hip injury. Wide receiver Doug Baldwin (groin) is set to play Sunday against the Rams

Green Bay (3-4-1) has lost two games in a row against arguably the two best teams in the NFL: the Patriots and the Rams.

Last week’s defeat was especially deflating as Aaron Rodgers would have had a shot at a game-winning drive late but the Packers fumbled away the final kickoff. Rodgers slammed his helmet down in disgust on the sidelines as a result.

Miami (5-4) is coming off a 13-6 win over the struggling Jets with Brock Osweiler at quarterback. Ryan Tannehill remains inactive due to injury so Osweiler will get his fifth start after splitting his first four.

Raiders vs Chargers LivE

The Chargers and Raiders are scheduled play in Oakland on Sunday, while the Seahawks and Rams are going toe-to-toe in Los Angeles. Both games are in the 4 p.m. ET window.

“We are monitoring conditions in California and are in close communication with the clubs and local authorities,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in a statement. “At this point, both the Los Angeles Chargers-Oakland Raiders game and the Seattle Seahawks-Los Angeles Rams game will kick off as scheduled.”

The Rams already cancelled their practice on Friday as a result of the air quality, with Sean McVay saying he preferred to have the players be with their families instead of the team.

“We just felt like, most importantly, it was for the guys to be with their families, their wives, their kids, and kind of be with that support structure and do things the right way and not have them come in and be totally distracted,” McVay told reporters on a conference call.

According to the Rams, about 50 different members of the organization have been forced to evacuate as a result of the fires.

Get live updates, news and analysis Sunday at 1:05 p.m. as the Raiders try to straighten things out at the Coliseum when they face the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Raiders can’t help but play better than their last game, when they were embarrassed on national television in an indescribably bad 34-3 loss to the 49ers last Thursday. Oakland’s defense was torched by Nick Mullens, who was taking his first NFL snaps. The defeat sent the Raiders into a tie with the New York Giants with the NFL’s worst record at 1-7.Raiders vs Chargers

Ranked just 27th in defense, the Raiders are no doubt a welcome sight for the Chargers, who have won five straight games and are just a game behind the first-place Chiefs in the AFC West. The Chargers are fresh off a solid effort in their 25-17 win over the Seahawks in Seattle on Sunday.

Philip Rivers, who has made a habit out of beating the Raiders, is having another impressive season — he’s thrown 19 touchdowns with just three interceptions.

The Raiders will not only have to deal with Rivers and the Chargers’ passing game, but running back Melvin Gordon, sixth in the league in rushing with 1,105 yards, should also be difficult to handle.

In the teams’ first meeting, Rivers and Co. had little trouble disposing of the Raiders, beating them 26-10 on Oct. 7 in Los Angeles.

Alabama vs Mississippi State

Alabama vs Mississippi State odds, line: 2018 college football picks, predictions from model on 7-3 roll

Mississippi State is next up for the daunting task of trying to defeat No. 1 Alabama. The Bulldogs get their shot this week when they travel to Tuscaloosa on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff on CBS. Alabama ran its record to 9-0 with a 29-0 thumping of LSU last time out, while Mississippi State battered Louisiana Tech 45-3. The Crimson Tide opened as 24-point favorites and are now laying 23.5, while the over-under has inched up from 51.5 to 53 in the latest Alabama vs. Mississippi State odds. Before you make any Alabama vs. Mississippi State picks, you need to see what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.

The advanced computer model simulates every FBS game 10,000 times, and those who have followed it have seen massive returns. In the past three years, this proprietary model has generated a jaw-dropping $4,210 profit for $100 bettors.

The model made some huge calls in Week 10, including the biggest game of the season, recommending the Crimson Tide against the spread (-14), on the money line (-588) and hitting the under in Alabama’s destruction of LSU. It also nailed its top-rated selection on Auburn (-3.5) over Texas A&M, helping the model finish the weekend on a strong 7-3 run on all top-rated picks.

Now, the model has crunched the numbers for Alabama vs. Mississippi State. We can tell you it’s leaning under, but it has also generated a strong point-spread pick that hits in more than 60 percent of simulations. That pick is only available at SportsLine.

The model has factored in that Alabama’s offense runs through quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The Heisman Trophy contender is a little banged up, but has been nothing short of brilliant all season. He has completed 68 percent of his passes for over 2,300 yards and 27 touchdowns — with just one interception. He also has racked up 172 rushing yards and run in three more scores. His top two receivers, Jerry Jeudy and Jaylen Waddle, are deep threats who are gouging defenses for 20-plus yards per catch.

The Crimson Tide also employ a ground game that nets 5.5 yards per carry. Behind one of the most imposing offensive lines in college football, the one-two backfield punch of Najee Harris, who’s nursing a mild ankle sprain, and Damien Harris creates headaches for opposing front sevens. Najee Harris averages 6.8 yards per carry and leads Bama in rushing yardage with 572.

But just because the Crimson Tide are rolling doesn’t mean they’ll cover a huge number against the Bulldogs.

Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald is a nightmare for opposing defenses. He has thrown for 1,252 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing for another 839 and nine scores. The 6-foot-5 senior threw for 243 yards and four touchdowns against Louisiana Tech and ran for another 107 yards.

Running back Kylin Hill averages 6.6 yards per carry for a Bulldogs team averaging a whopping 231 rushing yards per game.

The Bulldogs have lost three games this season, but would have covered Saturday’s 23.5-point spread in each game. They also beat then-No. 16 Texas A&M by 15 two weeks ago.

Who wins Mississippi State vs. Alabama? And which side covers in more than 60 percent of simulations? Visit SportsLine now to see which side of Saturday’s SEC showdown you need to be all over, all from the incredible computer model that’s up more than $4,200 over the past three years.

Michigan vs Rutgers

Since becoming Big Ten foes, Michigan is 3-1 both straight up and against the spread against Rutgers, including a three-touchdown victory last season. The College Football Playoff-minded Wolverines are huge favorites for Saturday afternoon’s scrimmage with the Scarlet Knights in New Jersey.

College football point spread: The Wolverines opened as 36.5-point favorites, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. (Line updates and matchup report)

College football betting pick, via OddsShark computer: 45.7-0.0 Wolverines (College football picks on every game)

Check out the OddsShark podcast on iTunes or Spotify or at OddsShark.libsyn.com for more odds information, betting picks and a breakdown of this week’s top sports betting news.

Why the Michigan Wolverines can cover the spread

Michigan just ran its SU winning streak to eight and its ATS winning streak to four with a 42-7 pummeling of Penn State last week. The Wolverines drove their first possession of the game 76 yards to a touchdown, led 14-0 at the half, then pushed that advantage to 42-0 in the fourth quarter before allowing the Nittany Lions to score a meaningless touchdown with two minutes to go.

On the afternoon Michigan out-gained Penn State 403-186, out-rushed the Lions 259-68, won the turnover battle 3-0, held a 38-22 time of possession advantage and covered the spread as a 13-point favorite.

The Wolverines have now out-gained every opponent this season and out-rushed every foe except Notre Dame.

At 6-0 in conference play, Michigan leads the East Division by a game over Ohio State, and at 8-1 overall the Wolverines are rated No. 4 in the latest CFP rankings.

Why the Rutgers Scarlet Knights can cover the spread

Rutgers is a little tougher case to make, riding an eight-game losing streak. However, the Knights are 2-0 ATS their last two times out, after giving Wisconsin a decent game in a 34-17 loss last week.

Rutgers only trailed the Badgers 10-0 at the half and 24-10 well into the fourth quarter and, in the end, easily covered the spread as a 29-point dog.

On the day, the Knights posted 333 yards of total offense, more than 50 better than their season average coming in. They also converted on 10-of-20 third-down and fourth-down situations and did not commit a turnover.

Two weeks ago, Rutgers led the first-place team in the Big Ten West, Northwestern, 15-10 in the fourth quarter, lost 18-15 but covered easily as a 20-point dog.

Smart betting pick

The only thing that matters for this game is the measure of Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh’s mercy, and that probably isn’t much. The Wolverines could win this game 70-0, and they may win it 50-0. But 40-0 would suffice. Smart money here gives the points with Michigan.

Washington State vs Colorado

The Colorado pass defense has gone from mediocre to worse at the wrong time.

It got ripped up by Oregon State as it mounted a huge comeback two weeks ago, and it had an even tougher time last week at Arizona, with Khalil Tate and company cranking up 350 yards and five touchdowns with big shot after big shot.

It’s not like Washington State can throw, or anything.

Gardner Minshew continues to make a push to be No. 3 on everyone’s Heisman ballot with great game after great game, throwing for 319 yards or more in every game, including a 334-yard gut-check performance in last week’s win over Cal.

But the Cougars aren’t No. 8 in the CFP rankings just because of Mr. Mustache.

The offensive line is going a great job, the defensive front is cranking up the pass rush with the pressure coming from all sides – leading to a Pac-12 high 27 sacks – and …

The passing game is really, really good.

Colorado has the skill and talent to keep up the pace if everything clicks, but Washington State is battle-tested now. Because of the steady play of Minshew, and the great play on the lines, have turned this into a special year.

But …

One Reason Why Colorado Will Win

The main man might be back.

There’s a cautious optimism that superstar WR Laviska Shenault is back after missing the last few games with a toe injury, and the Buff offense really, really needs him.

He was a machine over the first six games of the season, on the way to 60 catches for 780 yards and six touchdowns before getting hurt. Even if he’s not all back full – or at all – the passing game is there to keep up the pace.

Life is a whole lot easier with No. 2 to throw to, but Steven Montez has still been able to crank up the passing game, with 662 yards and five touchdowns over the two games.

This is a Buff team equipped to be able to get into a firefight, and it’s going to need to catch a few big breaks, too.

Colorado lost the turnover battle in the win over Colorado State to start the season, and it’s been a +8 ever since – it hasn’t lost the turnover margin in any of the last eight games. On the flip side, Wazzu has turned it over three times in the last two games and has been on the negative side of the stat four times.

The Buffs need to come up with a few big Minshew mistakes.

– Free daily ATS lock pick just released: ‘ 100% confidence release!’

What’s Going To Happen

This is just the type of game Washington State could be in big, big trouble.

Two years ago, Wazzu was on an eight-game winning streak when it went to Boulder in a massive Pac-12 game, and it got rocked 38-24. The Buffs need this to get bowl eligible, and with Utah up next and Cal to close, getting that sixth win this week is a must.

But this isn’t the Wazzu team of two years ago.

Minshew won’t get rattled, the lines will take over, and the pass rush will get to Montez just enough to come up with a few key stops. It won’t be easy, but the amazing Cougar season marches on in a shootout.

Kentucky vs Tennessee

Tennessee vs. Kentucky: Rocky Top Talk Staff Predictions

Tennessee looks to pick up its fifth win on Saturday when it hosts the No. 11 Kentucky Wildcats.

Tennessee is coming off a win against Charlotte, while Kentucky lost its last game to Georgia. Will the Vols catch Kentucky in a hangover or will the Wildcats rebound heading into the home stretch of the season?

Conner Knapp: Tennessee 20, Kentucky 17

(Season: 7-2)

This is the toughest game I’ve had to pick this year. Kentucky is No. 11 in the country, and yet somehow feels like Tennessee’s most likely win remaining on its schedule.

Tennessee is going to have to find some way to contain Kentucky linebacker Josh Allen, but I believe Jeremy Pruitt will have a game plan to stop Benny Snell and force Kentucky to throw the ball if it is going to beat the Vols.

Terry Lambert: Tennessee 16, Kentucky 13

I’m going back to the Vols here, even after they burned me in the fourth quarter in Columbia. As Conner mentioned above, Kentucky is one-dimensional. I think Pruitt can work his magic to contain Snell a little. The key to me is stopping Terry Wilson.

I’m expecting a similar game plan to the South Carolina game from Tyson Helton — short passes on the outside to their playmakers. Tennessee probably isn’t as bad as they looked last week and the Wildcats have struggled through the past three weeks.

Noah Taylor: Kentucky 17, Tennessee 13

(Season: 7-2)

I’m not overly confident in this pick because I think this is another game that could end up going either way.

I am, however confident in this game being low scoring and coming down to turnovers and defense. Kentucky’s defense is one of the best in the SEC-let alone the country-which doesn’t bode well for a Tennessee offensive line that appears to be more of a liability every week.

While both offenses are far from potent, Kentucky gets the edge in the run game and the defense which I think leads to their first win in Neyland Stadium since 1984.

Evan Winter: Tennessee 21, Kentucky 20

Here we go. I haven’t picked the Vols to win an SEC game in almost a year, but this one feels different for some reason.

Tennessee needs to stop two players: Josh Allen and Benny Snell Jr. While that’s easier said than done, Pruitt and Helton have shown they can come up with competent game plans.

The Vols avoid losing to Kentucky in consecutive years and get one step closer to a bowl game this weekend.

Austin Burlage: Kentucky 20 , Tennessee 13

(Season: 8-1)

The die hard Vols fan in me wants to believe this is a Tennessee win. After all, Kentucky hasn’t looked particularly great over their most recent games. Certainly not as good as their #11 overall ranking would indicate. Over the past four weeks the Wildcats are 2-2 and have averaged an abysmal 15 points in those games.

However, Kentucky’s whole body of work this year is actually quite impressive. They are a sound team, anchored by their defense. Florida, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, and Missouri all rank in the top half of the SEC in total offense. None of these teams scored more than 20 points on Kentucky, and the Wildcats were on the road to face three of those four teams. Given Tennessee’s offensive game plan in recent weeks I expect to see a moderate ability to move the ball with short passes. But I question if that will translate to points on the scoreboard. I’m going with the Wildcats in this one. We’ll get them back come basketball season.

TCU vs West Virginia

TCU Horned Frogs vs. West Virginia Mountaineers Odds, Analysis, Betting Pick

Since becoming conference rivals TCU owns the edge on West Virginia, winning four of six meetings outright including a 31-24 decision last season. But the Mountaineers are 4-1 against the spread over the last five meetings, winning twice and twice covering as ‘dogs. West Virginia hosts the Horned Frogs on Saturday afternoon in Morgantown.

College football point spread: The Mountaineers opened as 13.5-point favorites, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. (Line updates and matchup report)

College football betting pick, via OddsShark computer: 25.2-15.0 Mountaineers (College football picks on every game)

Why the TCU Horned Frogs can cover the spread

TCU just snapped a three-game losing skid with a windy 14-13 victory over Kansas State last week. The Frogs turned an early takeaway into the game’s first touchdown, took a 7-7 tie into the half, then regained the lead at 14-7 in the third quarter. They then allowed the Wildcats to score a touchdown early in the fourth, but Kansas State missed the extra point and TCU hung on from there.

On the afternoon the Frogs got beat along most of the stat sheet but won the turnover battle 3-1.

TCU has actually out-gained four of its last six opponents, and six of nine foes on the season. But it’s lost two games by a total of four points over that span, and the loss to Texas was close, too. At 4-5 overall the Frogs need two wins in their last three games to become bowl-eligible.

Why the West Virginia Mountaineers can cover the spread

The Mountaineers just reached 7-1 on the season with a 42-41 victory at Texas last week. In a back-and-forth affair that saw the lead change hands eight times West Virginia found itself down by seven points with two minutes to go. But the Mountaineers drove 75 yards for a touchdown with 16 seconds left, before going for two and the win and got it when quarterback Will Grier ran into the corner of the end zone.

On the day West Virginia amassed 578 yards of total offense, 232 on the ground and 346 through the air.

The Mountaineers have now out-gained seven of their eight opponents this season, and out-rushed five of their last seven foes. They’re also 5-2-1 ATS on the season and 3-1 ATS at home, covering spreads of 33, 15 and 14 points.

At 5-1 in conference play the Mountaineers are tied for first place with Oklahoma, as they quest for their first appearance in the Big 12 Championship Game. West Virginia is also rated No. 9 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings.

Smart betting pick

The Mountaineers are the better team, playing the better ball as of late, and they should win this game. However, while teams ranked in the AP Top 25 this season are 126-38 SU against un-ranked opponents, they’re just 69-90-5 ATS. Smart money here takes TCU and the points.

College football betting trends

The total has gone under in TCU’s last four games vs. West Virginia.

West Virginia is 5-1 SU in its last six games vs. its conference.

The total has gone under in six of TCU’s last seven games on the road.

South Carolina vs Florida

South Carolina vs Florida Gamecocks Preview

The Florida Gators will look to bounce back after back-to-back losses versus Georgia and Missouri. The Gators will host former head coach Will Muschamp and the South Carolina Gamecocks Saturday afternoon. The Gators heading into this week with some quarterback controversy but that ended Wednesday night when it was reported that backup quarterback Kyle Trask suffered a broken foot in practice and would be sidelined for the rest of the season. Florida head coach Dan Mullen needs to lead his team to victory against the Gamecocks in order to finish their SEC schedule on a high note. Last time these two teams met in the Swamp, Florida defeated the Gamecocks 20-7 with Austin Appleby at quarterback.

The South Carolina come into the Swamp with some confidence on offense as they defeated the Ole Miss Rebels 48-44 last Saturday. The Gamecocks offense will be led by their quarterback Jake Bentley. The junior quarterback has had an up and down season as he has completed 134 out of 215 passes for 1,666 yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Bentley threw for over 300 yards and two scores at Ole Miss last weekend. The Gamecocks will also be relying on their rushing attack led by Rico Dowdle. The junior running back has 98 carries for 490 yards and three touchdowns. South Carolina’s lead receiver is junior Bryan Edwards as he has 35 receptions for 556 yards and six touchdowns. Another receiver to watch for South Carolina is Deebo Samuel. He’s a threat with ball in his hands. He has 39 catches for 407 yards and five touchdowns.

On defense, the Gamecocks had had their issues even though with injuries and bad play. South Carolina will need to put pressure on Florida’s quarterback and force him to make mistakes. Junior linebacker T.J. Brunson leads the team in tackles with 64 tackles on the season. He also has seven tackles for loss, two sacks and three QB hurries. Defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw leads South Carolina in sacks with 3.5. The junior also has eight tackles for loss and two force fumbles. Florida is going to use their rushing attack to open up the passing game so Bryson Allen-Williams will need to be at his best. The redshirt-senior leads South Carolina in tackles for loss with ten on the year. He also has 36 tackles and two sacks.

In order for the Florida Gators to beat the Gamecocks, they will need to make some adjustments on offense starting with Feleipe Franks. The redshirt-sophomore had a solid start to the season but has started to decline in the past two games. He’s making bad reads, missing open guys and isn’t running as often as he did learn in the year. To take some pressure off Franks, Florida will need to run the ball early and often. Alabama native Lamical Perine leads the Gators in rushing. The junior has 93 carries for 480 yards and three touchdowns. Redshirt-junior Jordan Scarlett will need to get some touches as well. He has 84 carries for 470 yards and three touchdowns. Van Jeffersonand Freddie Swain are Florida’s top two receivers and will need to play a big role in the game.

The Florida defense started off the season great but has now started to get exposed a give up big plays. They haven’t done a great job of getting to the QB and haven’t forced a turnover since the Vanderbilt. The Gators defense really needs to turn it up and get things figured out and help the Florida offense by giving them a shorter field to work with. Junior defensive end Jachai Polite needs to pick things up as he hasn’t gotten a sack in the past two games. Vosean Joseph looked like a different player from 2017 but it started to look like 2017 Vosean Joseph. South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley has thrown some interceptions. If Florida can get some pressure and force some turnovers, they’ll be in great shape.
